What is caffeine and is it good or bad?
* Caffeine is an existing compound present in tea and coffee and is a natural stimulant of the brain and cardiovascular system. It is used widely in medicine like in combination with ergots in treatment of migraine headache and also has other uses in medicine.(1)
* Caffeine is good for you if you use it in an adequate manner, it causes addiction when it is used excessively, when it comes to addictions it may result in arrhythmias, diarrhea, insomnia, confusion, anxiety, hypertension, urge to urinate.
Effects on your CNS ( Central nervous system )
1- It makes arousal and makes you more productive through the day
2- It gives you high energy so it relives drowsiness and makes you alert
3- You may notice decreased fatigue and addiction by the time
Effects on your Digestive system
1- It causes nausea and vomiting
2- abdominal cramps and if you take it too much you may have diarrhea
3- It causes hyperglycemia and dryness of the mouth
4- Heartburn
Effects on your Urinary system
1- Increased urination and increased liability to have ketones in your urine
2- Excessive intake may make you prone to have urine incontinence
Effects on your blood vessels and heart system
1- Heart acceleration and increased blood pressure
2- Excessive intake may make you prone to arrhythmias ( irregular heartbeats )
Effects on your respiratory system
1- increased breathing in healthy people but may come badly with asthmatic people as they may have severe or sudden attacks of expiratory dyspnea.
